Our materials - Grow in a fair flow

Our Materials – Sustainable, Fair & Natural

Timeless organic fashion from European natural fibers – fairly produced since 1987.

At LANA Organic, we love naturalness and believe in honest fashion made from natural, durable materials. Our collections are crafted from high-quality raw materials that are not only comfortable to wear but also have the smallest possible ecological footprint. We pay attention to quality and durability in our materials and fabrics and place great importance on fair and sustainable production. We rely on purely organic, certified, and – where possible – vegan fibers.

We exclusively use raw materials of natural origin without synthetic pesticides: cotton, linen, Tencel, and EcoVero viscose. In our range, we also strive to use mainly non-animal fibers and generally avoid animal additives in further processing.

Organic Cotton – the Basis of Sustainable Fashion

Organic cotton is one of the most important fibers in our collection: it grows without chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and comes from organically controlled cultivation. This makes it particularly skin-friendly, breathable, and durable – ideal for sustainable fashion you can wear every day.

Linen – robust natural fiber with tradition

Linen is obtained from the flax plant and is characterized by its durability, breathability, and low environmental impact. The cultivation of flax requires significantly less water and resources than many other fibers, making it particularly sustainable.

Hemp – strong, natural, versatile

Hemp is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world and is among the most ecologically valuable fibers: it grows quickly, requires little water, and hardly any pesticides. Hemp fabrics are robust, skin-friendly, and wear out slowly – perfect for durable garments.

TENCEL™ Lyocell – modern, sustainable fiber

TENCEL™ (Lyocell) is made from wood from sustainably managed forests. A closed-loop solvent system is used in production, in which more than 99% of the solvent is reused. This makes TENCEL™ particularly resource-efficient. In addition, the fabric feels soft, is breathable, and supports the skin's natural moisture balance – ideal for shirts, dresses, and casual basics.

EcoVero Viscose – responsibly produced

EcoVero viscose is a certified viscose variant from Lenzing with verifiable proof of origin for the wood and reduced production emissions – but not an organic material in the GOTS sense.

Organic Wool – natural warmth with responsibility

For our wool products, we use controlled organic livestock farming (kbT) and preferably countries with high ecological standards. We pay attention to animal welfare and the preservation of natural habitats to guarantee responsible wool. Many of our wool articles are also GOTS-certified.

Our selection criteria for materials

We select materials not only based on sustainability aspects but also examine the entire life cycle:

  • Ecological raw material extraction and cultivation
  • Transparent supply chains and fair production
  • Skin-friendliness and suitability for everyday use
  • Durability instead of disposable fashion
  • Avoidance of harmful chemicals and microplastics

If a material does not have a certification, we test it according to our own high standards before using it. We ensure that cultivation, extraction, manufacturing, and processing not only protect the environment but also the people involved in these processes.

Many of our wool articles are also GOTS-certified.

Certifications, Seals & Transparency

A large part of our materials is GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) – the leading international label for ecologically produced textiles. It ensures that all steps – from cultivation to production and processing – meet strict ecological and social standards.

Above all, this ensures one thing: respectful treatment of the environment and nature. Because in addition to our natural fibers, which are obtained from cultivation to harvesting in mixed crops and under the highest ecological demands on soil quality and nutrient richness, the few raw materials of animal origin are also produced only under the strictest observance of animal welfare. By avoiding harmful substances and pesticides and cultivating in crop rotation, soils can retain water better, thus not only saving the world's most precious resource but also protecting local waters and drinking water sources from pollution.

In addition, wherever possible, we examine vegan alternatives and deliberately avoid animal additives to strengthen our vegan product line.

Our Sustainability Promise

Sustainability is not a trend for us, but a commitment – to nature, people, and you as a customer. With our materials, we take responsibility for fashion that is both ecologically and socially compatible, and at the same time remains timeless and durable.
